Vietnam’s wind potential
Vietnam is traditionally reliant on coal-fired power however increasing amounts of renewable energy are being introduced into the country’s energy mix.
According to McKinsey, Vietnam has significant growth potential for wind power, considering the 3,000 kilometers of coastline and winds that blow from 5.5 to 7.3 meters per second.
Vietnam has up to 500GW of offshore wind potential however financial barriers, technical complexity and a lack of local OEM’s have hindered the growth of the market.
