EngineeringUK hires charity expert Rawle to build partnerships

She will bring expertise in women’s rights, economic empowerment and climate.

Not-for-profit organisation EngineeringUK has appointed Rebecca Rawle as Director of Business Development and Partnerships.

Rawle will join EngineeringUK next month from international charity ActionAid UK, where she is Deputy Director of Fundraising and part of its Leadership team.

EngineeringUK is an advocate for engineering careers and technologies, with a particular emphasis on encouraging young people into the sector while also promoting diversity.

In her role at ActionAid UK, Rawle developed partnerships nationally and internationally, with a focus on women’s rights, economic empowerment and climate.

Her previous roles include corporate partnership development and management at Breast Cancer Now and Marie Curie UK.

She said she was “really excited to join EngineeringUK at an important time for the organisation” and added: “Education, equity, diversity & inclusion and the sustainability agenda are issues which are very close to my heart, and as a passionate proponent for the positive impact of partnerships, I can’t wait to start working with those in industry to bring about the shift-change needed for engineering and technology, and society at large, to thrive.” 

EngineeringUK chief executive Dr Hilary Leevers said Rawle’s “experience in developing lasting partnerships will be key to the success of our new five-year strategy and she joins at a very exciting time.”
